Perfect Cocktail to Ring in the New Year

Wow has 2020 been a year! It has certainly been a challenge for most of us, although we have been luckier than most. Both my husband and I have been able to continue working through this. However adapting to working from home while the boys have remote school has not been easy.

I figure that I would end 2020 by sharing with you favorite drink of late so we can celebrate together the end of a very long year.

As a Massachusettan (Bay Stater if you are like me and your tongue trips over your words), when I think of driving to the Cape Cod, I think of the sprawling cranberry bogs coming into view as you take in the scenery.

In my younger years, I loved the tartness of cranberry juice. The way your lips pucker and yet there is a sweetness that comes later. I was never one for sugary drinks.

I still love a great tart drink. One of my favorite adult cocktails is a French 75. It is a perfect blend of gin, lemon juice, simple syrup (AKA sugar water), and Champagne.

I am new to enjoying gin. My husband loves a good martini. After 25 years I have his order memorized- Bombay Sapphire, bone dry, up, with a twist. He has yet to memorize my Starbucks order. Men!

While I was perusing the liquor section at my local grocery market (becoming one of my  favorite pass times as I am sucker for pretty bottles), I discovered Cranberry Gin!  The best of both worlds. So I picked up a bottle of the Koval Cranberry Gin Liquor and decide to create my New England version of a French 75.

It is a perfect way to ring in the New Year and leave 2020 behind.

What are your plans for the last day of 2020?
